With great sadness, we share the news that Amy Seeley passed away yesterday from complications of a stroke. Amy served the National Weather Service for nearly 30 years, most of them at the Chicago office. She was a long-time instructor and supporter of the MWSC and of women on the water. And she was a friend to many of us individually. She will be missed greatly.
Amy's family will host time to meet with family and friends on Sunday, August 18th at 2 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, IL followed at 4 pm with a memorial service in her honor. Her family requests no flowers and is considering establishing a scholarship fund in her name at a later time. We will let you know when we hear anything else about the scholarship. For now, I know you will join us as we keep them in our hearts and our thoughts.
The MWSC 2019 logo gear site is now open! Pick up some outwear to keep you warm, or a shirt to show you're cool. Orders placed by May 5th will be delivered to the Conference with no shipping charge.

We're looking forward to seeing this year's attendees on May 18th for a day of connection, knowledge, and support as only the MWSC can offer!
The Midwest Women's Sailing Conference is the topic of Ken Quant's column in the spring issue of Great Lakes Scuttlebutt magazine! Ken accurately describe Conference attendees as "Driven by a desire to improve their skills, meet like-minded people, and simply jump start the season... they descend on the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center for a one-day immersion in the world of sailing from a female perspective."
