![]() Deb Cantrell is a half-time cruiser, full-time adventurer, writer, and professional consultant to the social services sector in Canada. Deb embarked upon an ambivalent love affair with boats 28 years ago when, out of the blue, her husband Jim announced that he’d like to ‘sell everything and sail away.’ At the time, neither had sailed a day in their lives. Learn more about Deb... Deb will be the keynote speaker at our Conference on May 2, 2020. Mark your calendar now. Registration opens January 6th. ![]() With great sadness, we share the news that Amy Seeley passed away yesterday from complications of a stroke. Amy served the National Weather Service for nearly 30 years, most of them at the Chicago office. She was a long-time instructor and supporter of the MWSC and of women on the water. And she was a friend to many of us individually. She will be missed greatly. Amy's family will host time to meet with family and friends on Sunday, August 18th at 2 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, IL followed at 4 pm with a memorial service in her honor. Her family requests no flowers and is considering establishing a scholarship fund in her name at a later time. We will let you know when we hear anything else about the scholarship. For now, I know you will join us as we keep them in our hearts and our thoughts. The MWSC 2019 logo gear site is now open! Pick up some outwear to keep you warm, or a shirt to show you're cool. Orders placed by May 5th will be delivered to the Conference with no shipping charge.
