![]() With great sadness, we share the news that Amy Seeley passed away yesterday from complications of a stroke. Amy served the National Weather Service for nearly 30 years, most of them at the Chicago office. She was a long-time instructor and supporter of the MWSC and of women on the water. And she was a friend to many of us individually. She will be missed greatly. Amy's family will host time to meet with family and friends on Sunday, August 18th at 2 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, IL followed at 4 pm with a memorial service in her honor. Her family requests no flowers and is considering establishing a scholarship fund in her name at a later time. We will let you know when we hear anything else about the scholarship. For now, I know you will join us as we keep them in our hearts and our thoughts.

This is indeed a sad day for National Weather Service; they have lost a person who is indeed part of the family. When you lose a person who matters to you, it feels sad because we will miss them. The idea that we will not be able to see them is indeed a devastating idea, and they will only get the chance to exist only in our memories. I am sure that Amy Seeley was able to live a good life. It’s just that the creator wants him back sooner than expected. I just hope that her family will be able to get through this.
