We're tickled to tell you that Sheila McCurdy will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Midwest Women’s Sailing Conference! Sheila has sailed over 100,000 miles offshore including a passage from the Galapagos to the Marquesas, the 2015 Transatlantic Race, and 17 Newport Bermuda Races—skippering to 2nd place in class and 4th overall in 2016.
Sheila’s onshore resume is just as full. She is a trustee of the Mystic Seaport Museum, serves on the board of her local yacht club, writes and lectures on sailing education, runs Safety at Sea Seminars and certifies instructors for US Sailing, and is a past commodore of the Cruising Club of America. She also holds a USCG 100-ton Master license and a master’s degree in marine affairs. If there's anyone who has a thing or two to share about the joys and challenges of sailing, it's Sheila McCurdy!
