Navigating at Night

This presentation will focus on navigation at night and restricted visibility. We will discuss navigational lights required for vessels, how to identify certain aids to navigation based upon light configuration, navigation rules, and hazards associated with night navigation. We will also talk about protecting your night vision and proper use of your vision to detect objects in the darkness.
Lori Tisinai grew up near Lake Michigan in northern Illinois. She and her family were avid boaters on the lake. Her love of the water and marine safety has been lifelong passion. Lori holds a Master License 50 gross tons for Great Lakes & Inland Waters. She is active in the marine community in the Chicagoland area and serves as an instructor for the Chicago Maritime School.
